Not a bad idea, but there's NO chance of finding an explorer in a breakers
yard over here! I wish there was. I dont suppose there are over a thousand
    on the road!

    thanks all the same

    Murder in the UK!

Hi, I need some advice please.

Yesterday I took my '98 V6 for it's BIG 60,000 mile service. Don't know what
you pay in the US but it cost me £350 and if it wasnt for an extended
warranty I would have paid £190 for a ball joint which needed replacing!

SO........... as you will understand I was just a little bit enraged to go
out to my car this morning and find that some drunken lowlife had ripped the
'Explorer' badge from my tailgate leaving just a load of glue and the 'R' on
    the end!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try as I might (maybe due to tailgate rage) I cannot find a source for a
replacement.( better buy a handful in case the d*<khead comes back) can
anyone suggest a good source please?

    Terry

I wish, see the bit about the ball joint!!!!

Thanks for the help, I have now found fordpartsonline.com who will supply
    the part for about $17 ( £12)

Phone call to a UK dealer today revealed that we have to pay £45 for this
    part! madness!!!

guess I'll order about ten 'cos the bugger is bound to come back.

    Hey Terry,

I'd suggest buying the one off EBAY if you can find it. Then purchase and
install one of those web cams facing your Explorer to video the bloke who is
ripping you off. I bet you'll save a few bucks (pounds) and get more peace
    of mind that way.
