Jeep: Mopar CD changer

Mopar CD changer
I have a JGC fitted with a Mopar 6 CD changer model 82202700. Trying to play
a CD, or select a different CD, gives an "Error 01" on the radio and the
changer will not let me remove the CD cassette. It makes the right sort of
noises when the eject button is pressed, but the cassette does not eject and
remains locked in the changer. The manual gives no indication on how to
proceed, apart from "consult your Dealer".
Is there any way to force the cassette to eject?
Any help much appreciated.

I managed to fix the problem, so for the records, here is what I did.
The CD changer was removed from the Jeep, and I took the front sliding door,
and the covers off to see inside the unit. There was a CD still in the
"play" position. Thinking that at least now I might see what was, or was
not, happening, I reconnected it to the Jeep only to find that it worked
perfectly!!! So maybe disconnecting it reset the electronics or something as
I guess power is always on the changer, but it is working fine now. The CD
changer is connected via a multi way cable connector a few inches from the
unit with the connectors hidden under the carpet. It may be possible to
disconnect the changer without needing to remove it. If it happens again
that is the first thing I'll try.
Watching it work out of it's covers is quite impressive and the change is
very slick considering it appears to be constructed from punched and formed
galvanized bean cans.
