Monroe Shocks for 2000 JGC / Sensatrac or Reflex ??
I have a 2000 JGC, and I need to replace the shocks. I have decided on
Monroe shocks, for a mid-priced quality shock.
I want a fairly "smooth" ride, with decent control. While I occasionally go
off-road, my use is public roads 98% of the time.
They have the Sensatrac for about $45 each installed, and the Reflex, which
is a more recent model, for $62 each, installed, at Sears.
I have done some research, but cannot really tell if the Reflex are that
much better than Sensatrac, and what the overall rating of either of these
Monroe shocks would be.
I would appreciate any comments (from experience) that any of you would have
about either or both of these specific shocks.

One other unrelated question........ about Monroe shocks but another
vehicle. I also have a 1980 Jeep CJ5, which I use about 50/50 on-off
road. Off road use is mostly gravel roads, and not much really rough stuff.
I need shocks for that vehicle as well, and I am considering the Monroe
Gas-O-Matic shock (suv or light truck model) for that vehicle. Is that a
decent choice for an economical shock for the 1980 CJ5 ??
Thank you very much !!

Skyjacker Hydro shocks would work well in both applications. I have a set on
my 89 XJ and am very pleased with on/off road performance. They can be had
cheaper than the monroes at any 4wd store.
