    Maintenance costs

Hi, I bought my 2000 Echo in Canada then moved to the US. The
periodic maintenance brochure from my Canadian dealer tells me the
Maintenance Service (not just Lubrication service) at 36 mo/48000 km
costs about $100, or ~$70 US. Dealers around Houston want $330 to
perform the maintenance. What gives? Any recommendations about how
to find this service at a better price?
    Thanks for your advice

For one, don't go to a Toyota dealership.

I've seen advice that says not to just blindly say "do the xxx mile
service" but get an itemization and maybe a la carte prices.

There might be things like "check the tire pressure, tread, check for
leaks, check the CV boots, change the air filter, etc." that you could
do yourself, and others like "change the oil" that you could have done
    elsewhere.

The only real service might be changing the plugs and maybe replacing
    the coolant.
