Re: Magellan Roadmate 700
At least in Rochester NY the BJ's flyer has a $50 off coupon for the
700 bringing it down to $450. This week only.

I bought my 700 a few days before Christmas at BJ's and, come to think
of it, it wasn't shrink wrapped, although I'm sure that it didn't have
a 'Refurb' sticker on it either. I'm not sure what BJ's policy is for
refurbs, if indeed, they even sell them. Incidently, I called
Magellan's sales, gave them the serial number and credit card. They're
sending out the 5.14 upgrade for $99 + $6 shipping in 2-4 weeks. I'm
going to check BJ's the next time I'm in there to see if they sell
refurbished products. Does the 700 come in a shrink wrapped package?

They have been saying that since October. Better make sure that your
bank doesn't process the transaction.

I can't seem to get any Canadian cities on my Roadmate 700.
It only allows me U.S. cities.
What do I need to do?

One of the updates may have corrupted the indices. Install the 3.54 update
and see if it help. When I first tried a used 700, I could not search for
streets in the city of Washington, DC. The only streets were at the two
airports. I had to start the search from the state of District of
Columbia. Once I installed that update, the problem disappeared. Try
starting with a province and see if you can find the cities. If you can
find them, the corrupted indices are at fault.
