Hey Mike, not a whole lot. Okay, yeah, well a whole lot... Just moved
into my FIRST NEW house yesterday, and hating life for it today It
    was over 110*...

Let me shoot you an email from work, because after today my system is
going to be down for a few weeks waiting for my DSL to be put in. I'll
put something profound in the subject line, so you know it's me

Uh, Kate, I think that he meant it was 110 degrees, not 110 thousand bucks.

I'd like to find a house in Northern Colorado for 110 smakcers...

I believe it. This is a pretty cheap place to live as far as housing is
concerned. $100k gets you a house that's old but still in good overall
condition, and a bit of land to go with it, and typically a small garage.
Even out closer to some of the more affluent neighborhoods, houses aren't
    that outrageous.

Our home is 1600 sf ranch style, large lot (according to city standards) RV
parking, (the boat fits comfortably with two cars beside it and three out
front if need be) 3 bd 1.5 bath in older quiet neighborhood, middle income
houses.. it's current value is about $205-210k, and still climbing thanks to
all the BAFs moving into the valley.

I can hardly wait till Dick retires, I am going to run so hard and far from
this state all you'll see is the smoke from my tires!

    Re: An LS1 RX-7? <gag me!>

I live a block from a functioning steel mill. At least I don't live a few
miles down the road, where they're in between two halves of it and the mill
is trying to buy out their little town.

We have no real yards, per se. I can almost touch my neighbor's house from
here. as wide as my house plus about 5', and about 12' long. Not big at
all. The pool + garage take up the entire back "yard."

That said, my house is pretty nice, and the group of Italian people next
door have a small apartment style building with a bakery in the front, and a
yard next to it (they bought the lot and tore down the building). In the
last year, the crime rate has gone up a bit... lots of thefts and stuff like
that. I live two blocks in from a river, which is great if you're a boater.

The other half of my block is pretty run down. Everything from the
    buildings to the streets.

In the 50's, this very small town was famous for having more bars per capita
than any other place in the area, perhaps even state and country, I'm not
sure. There were something like 11 bars here and my town is a narrow stripe
two blocks long wedged between two other towns.

This is the house close to me that's for sale:

    http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=12&frm=byzip&st=&typ=1&typ=2& typ=3&typ=4&typ=5&typ=6&poe=realtor&mnbed=0&mnbath =0&mnprice=0&mxprice=99999999&js=off&pgnum=2&fid=s o&mnsqft=&mls=xmls&zp=15014&sid=0157B4ABF504C&snum xlid=1028621565&lnksrc=00001

It actually has some back yard.

This is the most expensive house in my town. I don't know where it is. Up
on the hill though, away from the river and the mill... probably on the
    "rich street."

    Hmmm,

    It's funny. Location-wise.

My parents are about to buy a new house for approx. $100k USD here in
    NewfieLand.

That gets them about 3500 square feet, 4-5 bedrooms, 2-3 bathrooms, 2
    storey, 2-car garage, 4-car parking lot.... all-in-all a GREAT house in a
    GREAT neighbourhood.

Anyone wanna come to Newfieland to save some monwy???

I love it here for the most part.... Canada = safest country to live in
and Newfoundland = safest province to live in Canada. It doesn't get any
    better than that, EH?

    Just my rant...
