    Lexus bought by MB

Mercedes will purchase all of Lexus in a huge tax and currency play that will
instantly make the Germens hundreds of millions.

Since MB doesn't need any more luxury cars in its stable, all future Lexus RS
models will be re-badged as Imperial (remember those sparrow strainer tail
lights?) and marketed via Chrysler dealers. The company says this is the first
time since the early 60s that Chrysler will offer a true luxo ride, and plans
to resurect the old Imperial brand name.

The RX330 will be dumbed down and cheapened to suite the mentality of Grand
Cheroke buyers. MB feels that since the Cheroke design is nearly 50 years old,
it's time to move on, that even loyal Jeep fans will soon catch on to the dated
design and horrible reliability of the Grand Cheroke. Looks like a plan to keep
Jeep owners from migrating to GM/Ford SUV junk.

Same with the ES330 to replace the Dodge Intrepid. An MB spokes person noted
that in order to better match the quality expectations of current Dodge buyers,
that this car will be produced in a plant in the Dominican Republic.... a
retrofitted sugar mill that was wiped out by a recent hurricane. Chrysler says
it is a "real sweet deal" for everyone.

What will they do with the E and S class cars? And how soon will they do that?

You know, if you're going to do this sort of thing, you get a much better
effect if you try to use press-release speak language instead of what you
    did.

Will MB use cash to buy the company or will it use stock? Will ole Jerkin
Shrimp, the current MB leader, become the leader of the entire new
    organization?

He should. Because if a buyout of this nature were to ever take place, it
would be Toyota-Lexus purchasing the entire Daimler-Chrysler corporation and
killing off the Mercedes-Benz line in its entirety. :-)

    This is Turtle.

Tankie ----- Reuters News , Smart Money News Service, and Edward Jones Auto
News all don't know anything about this deal in the making. I didn't check out
http://amishrakefight.org/gfy/ for they may have it. Now they report things
that a regular type fellow would not want to hear.

Now the only thing that Toyota and Chrysler have in the line of deals is a
software deal to combine their research teams into coming up with a better
problem reporting system to have on the computors of the cars which will report
a problem when brought into the dealerships for having a problem. They did not
speak of any merger of any kind.

Are you sure you got this from a News service and not from a friend who sells
    Dodge salesman.

This is all on the level.

In true MoPar tradition, they will ditch the dohc Lexus V8 and replace it with
the HEMI. Obvious reasons are that the HEMI is cheaper to produce, more
powerful, and MoPar buyers don't give a rats ass about gass milage, reliability
or smoothness and sophistication. These traits basiclydefine tha domestic
    buyer mentality.

PS... this waas all in a virtual google search a while back
