Jeep: Jeep wrangler Bumper Question

Jeep wrangler Bumper Question
Does anyone know what the crash impact rating is on the OEM bumper for a
99ish Wrangler?
I.E> How much weight it can withstand without bending/cracking/breaking in a
front end crash
Thanks

Re: Jeep wrangler Bumper Question
about 5 mph will put a nasty little bend in it.

Re: Jeep wrangler Bumper Question
If anyone has any documentation on the web about this would be great..
Im trying to fight a crash report on my Jeep they claim that it did $4000 in
damage to another car and only $250 ot the bumper on my jeep. There is NO
marks on teh bumper looks brand new accept my fog light broke. So im trying
to fight it as there is NO way possible to do that much damage and not have
any damage on my end.

Re: Jeep wrangler Bumper Question
That is most likely correct. Your Jeep has a steel bumper. The car has a
plastic bumper. Jeep body parts are cheaper than car body parts.

Re: Jeep wrangler Bumper Question
I had a 73 mustang, last of the big ones, got hit by a lady in a volvo,
her hit started on the front 1/4 panel, peeled back my door skin, started to
peel back the rear 1/4 panel but hit the tire instead, busted the rear end
out of it, car was totaled, when I got out to check her, she had a small
scratch on front bumper and a cracked signal light. I know this isn't what
you want to hear, but the mustang was a solid car, back when you could still
sit on the hood without a dent, and it was toast, she was going 30 mph and I
was just rolling up to a stop sign, so maybe 5 mph.
