    Jacking up a 944

This might seem like a strange question but its better to be safe than
sorry. I want to adjust the parking brake on my S2 and the manual says jack
up the rear and remove both wheels. I am wondering the best method to raise
both rears wheels at the same time. Being that I don't have a hoist at my
disposal should I just use 2 jacks, one on each side.. or would it be safe
to put a trolley jack with timbers under the gearbox? .. I have seen some
people do this on conventional rwd cars and lifting the diff up but I'd just
be worried that I'd damage the gearbox or some mounts etc... thoughts?

    cheers..
    adam.

You can probably do it without damage, but:
You need to put it on jack stands for safety anyway, so you could
just jack each side up and put the stand underneath. No way that
I - or you - should trust a floor jack alone.
