BMW: Interior Care

    Interior Care

I recently purchased my first BMW (2000 323CI 5 speed manual). It is
everything I had imagined since first riding in a BMW 25 years ago. If I'm
asking newbie questions and there is a better place for me to post, just
    let me know.

What, if anything, should I clean and treat the leather interior with? I
have grey leather interior with a black dashboard. I'm mostly concerned
with the suns effect on the black - I don't want it to fade. I'm reluctant
to try something like ArmourAll without confirmation from someone. I've
worked at a leather handbag company in the past and we always instructed
customers to use a leather conditioner on the products once a month. Does
this hold true with a leather car interior?

    Thanks in advance.

    I'm

Conditioning the leather about once every two or three months works for me.
I like Zaino & Connolly conditioners, although they're a bit pricy.

Leatherique is my favorite. Mailorder only. Kinda pricey, but so was your
    3 series.

    I also have a new 330i

Second the nomination for Lexol, it's very good and inexpensive, available
in any high-class shoe store. (Also works great on shoes and leather
    jackets.)

I third that for Lexol cleaner/conditioner. You can buy at Pep-Boys, a
little under $20.00 for both. What everybody else left out in their
replies, is that you let the seats heat up before/while/after cleaning
and conditioning. You can even keep adding conditioner (not a ton)
when their hot. This opens up the leather's pores and you give it a
real good deep "feeding". If you do this three/four times a year the
    seats will never crack.
