Infiniti Q45 sun visors (keep falling off)
1. Is it just my Q45 ('90) or do others have the problem that the sun
visors are engineered badly (about 4 to 6 aluminum threads with a
strong steel 1/2 inch spring & a steel jesus clip holding the assembly
to the roofline).
Over time (on average, about every two to three years) I lose a visor.
Pop! Dangle. Right into my face or that of the passenger.
Hanging vertically, held only by the wiring connections.
2. Replacement is $200 in parts alone (typical Infiniti pricing, which is
about $150 too high for a part that is as badly engineered as this one).
Did they fix this obvious engineering problem in later years?
3. Don't get me wrong ... I love the engineering on the Infiniti Q45 (I've
had the machine more than a decade); but, I was wondering if I was the only
one to be forced to complain to the NHTSA of this unsafe situation of
the visors popping off once every two or three years into the drivers' face.

P.S. Haven't heard a thing from the NHTSA.
