I have just purchased a new 1.1 Getz - I did consider the diesel but my
annual mileage doesn't quite justify the extra money that would cost - I
decided on the 1.1 because of the price of fuel here in the UK (£4.00 /
gallon) - I am just hoping that the 1.1 engine will give me the power I
need. I have bought the car but won't recieve it until the 1st September
(new registrations). I can't remember the list and target price for a 5 door
1.1 Getz but I think I did well when I managed to knock the price down to
£5495.

Depending on where you buy yours, you can get a 1.1, 1.3, 1.5, and
1.6L 4-cylinder gas engine and a 1.5 3-cylinder turbodiesel. The 1.5
and 1.6L gas engines are the same Alpha motors the Accent has/had,
and I think the 1.3 is also an Alpha.

I can't understand why Hyundai don't market the Getz in North America.
It's an absolutely brilliant little car!

I've had mine since Mar '04 and it's without a doubt the best four cyl.
car I've ever owned (42 yrs driving and many new and used cars).

Here in Australia they're sold in 3 and 5 door variants with the a choice
of 1.3 sohc or 1.5 dohc(Alpha) engines.
