How wide is the 2005 Altima???

    Greetings,

How wide is the 2005 Altima? I see that the overall width is approx
70.5 inches, but is that dimension mirror tip to mirror tip?

Or is it the body dimension?

I have a garage door that is 93" wide and I want to put an Altima in
it, IF there is enough room for the mirrors to pass with a little
    room.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

Most likely body dimension. Add about seven inches each side for the
    mirror.

But rather than take anyone's word for it, before you buy one take a
    tape measure to a dealer.

I'd worry more about getting my butt out once I put it in the garage,
unless you enjoy climbing through the sunroof.

    John,

    Thanks.

I was afraid that it was the body dimension. Oh yes, I already have
my tape measure ready to measure all the vehicles that we might
consider. Right now, with my '95 Honda Accord I have about 6" on
either side of the mirrors to get by the door. A vehicle any wider
and it would be a problem, unless I pull in the drivers mirror to pass
    the door.

My garage is wider than the doors so I should be able to open the door
    enough to get out.

My house is about 50 years old, Cape Cod style with a garage
underneath so any widening of any sort (except my butt, of course)
    is impossible.

Oh, this is way wider than a '95 Accord and unlike the older Altimas you
can't fold in the side mirrors.

Better look for another car (Passat?) or park it outside or move. ;-)
