How much on average to swap out a 4.0L HO EFI with Rebuilt Engine?

I have a 1992 Jeep YJ with 221,00 ... great engine but it is showing
its signs of wear. Is it cheaper just to buy and have installed a
rebuilt 4.0L engine, rahter than have the original rebuilt? What is a
reasonable cost and is there any suggested facilities in the DC
    Baltimore area?

    Thanks

    I paid $1200 + $650 re/re for my rebuilt with a 3 yr warranty (Canadian
funds). I paid for few extras on top of that but that was the base price for
my 92 4.0HO.. I suppose you could be around the $1500US ballpark.

I checked recently with parts co's like Napa, Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts
as well as a dealership. The prices ranged from $1100 to $2300 and
warranties varied as much. Advanced auto parts had the most interesting
deals. They had two: One was $1100 for long block with 15 month warr, 2nd
was for $1500 and warr was 3yr/150,000 miles!! I opted to rebuild my engine
and I'm looking at $700-800 just for the short block. The head I already
replaced so I didn't need to work that. I'm not saving much in the long run.
Long block with warr seems better deal to me. Hope this helps.
