Come on, ___ZCxxa_sss__nope__ssspPammmm_____, trying to spoof one of
the giants of Usenet is deplorable. Doing so while posting with your
real name (___ZCxxa_sss__nope__ssspPammmm_____) is just TOO stupid.
    You ain't Cass.

Since I have Cass blocked, I don't know quite what's going on here. For the
record, though, "Cass's" real name, unlikely as it may sound, is Roscoe F.
St. John II, ham radio callsign W5BRY.

    I don't give out addresses. <g>

BTW, if I had a name as cool as Roscoe F. St. John II (and I'm serious about
this; that's one very cool name), I wouldn't be calling myself something as
    diminutive as "Cass."

Yeah, Ed, EVERYONE has Cass blocked. What's going on, I think, is that
some interloper(s) are claiming to be Cass, but are posting from a lot
of crazy addresses like those quoted at the top of this post, which
    let's them past our filters.

The Casshole is probably valiantly trying to defend the brand he has
built over the years, but no one can see his posts. That's ironic, no?
It's kind of a shame that the grand netkook's image is being destroyed
    and he can't defend himself.

BTW, try this Google Groups search on Roscoe's call sign,
    http://groups.google.com/groups?q=W5BRY&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d.
It includes the Jan 1, 1998 post in which he cracked; his posts before
that were quite sane. I'm speculating that something happened to him
over the 1997 year end holidays, almost 6 years ago, from which he
    hasn't recovered.

Aha. The lunatics are pretending to be other lunatics. It's too bad we
didn't have an Internet when I was in college, because the opportunities for
research projects in abnormal psychology have exploded so much that coming
up with an advanced degree project must be as easy as falling off a log. It
could have kept me out of manufacturing, which would have been my good luck.

I never watched the Dukes, ever, so it doesn't ring up that association for
me. What I think of when I hear "Roscoe" is a pioneer progressive-rock DJ
from WABC-FM in New York, in the late '60s.

Jim Rozen is probably too young to remember that Roscoe. <g>

Sorry Ed, but we like you right where you are. Your wise and learned
counsel on this NG is tribute enough to your education and background, just
as it is. You will not be allowed to abandon us and seek other
opportunities - for it is our good luck that you are here.

Bob, I can't tell you how perfectly you timed that kind and generous
