Honda: Honda Pilot

Re: Honda Pilot
Me too! Satisfied, that is. Just got back from a 300 mile trip each way-
very comfortable. Lots of rain- the Pilot ignored it!
I put on a Reese hitch and Yakima rack for skis and canoe.

What kind of gas mileage did you get on your trip.

Honda Pilot
I am thinking about buying a Pilot and was wondering if anyone has anything
good or bad to say about them? Gas mileage, ride, handling, anything.
Thanks,

Re: Honda Pilot
Haven't measured gas mileage yet, very comfortable ride excellent, handling
ditto. Lots of space, good top rack (I carry a canoe), easy trailer hitch
installation.
Haven't been in the snow yet, but it's fine on unpaved back roads.
And of course I'm depending on that Honda reliability.

Re: Honda Pilot
I am also interested in either a pilot or an MDX. Does anyone have any
insight on either of these choices.

I bought one 6 weeks ago, love it. Mileage is not that great, but
it's better than a Chevy Taco... I mean, Tahoe, or an Expedition. I'm
getting 15 in the city and maybe 18-20 on the highway.
Ride is great, it's a very smart car. I've got the EX. I have a
dashboard rattle that the dealer will fix but otherwise it's great.
Check out www.hondasuv.com for some good write-ups.

Re: Honda Pilot
5 mph or so above speed limit during recent x-country trip calculated at
18.1 mpg. Return trip right at speed limit provided 22.8 mpg. You may take
it from there. Driving assertively on dirt road with rises and blind curves
hit a dried rut in desert country, driving left front violently upward.
Thought I had lost it.and the wheel! Nevertheless...no damage whatsoever
and only slightest realignment necessary. You may take this as you wish
also, but for me it's one tough SUV. I won't be doing that again though.
I worked hard to develop at least a few gripes, paying close attention
to performance these past 6000+ miles. Happy to report though that I have
nothing to report...a first time for that.

Re: Honda Pilot
New owner of EX-L. No complaints. The new 04 Highlander may give the Pilot
a run for the ride though.
It now also has 3rd row seat and an upgrade engine. But
I still love my PIlot
