Toyota: Highlander tires

    Highlander tires

I am replacing the original Goodyear tires and am looking for
recommendations. Having had two Camrys before this, I was very
disappointed in handling during even light to moderate snow. Our
driveway is a bit steep and with just a half-inch of snow, the
Highlander's tires spin and fishtale. I had one tire dealer try to
convince me I needed "true" truck tires (at $ 150/tire) but others
have said truck tires are not needed. I have always used Bridgestones
and like them. Any recommendations from Highlander drivers ?

Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires are a good choice. For others check this

by the way, $601 for 4 tires at costco with lifetime balance/rotation so the
    Cross Terrans aren't cheap

    Re: Highlander tires

As you have found, tires are more responsible for grip in snow than AWD.
The OEM tires on the Highlander are useless in snow, just like most
all-season tires. If you drive in winter conditions, strongly consider a
winter tire, and change tires when you would normally rotate anyway.
