help! No reverse 2nd or 3rd gear 99 eclipse, chrysler trans

Hiya people, any help here would be appreciated. I have a 99 eclipse with a
f4ac1 trans, it came got it and the owner said it wont move when it gets
hot. i picked up the car and drove it. All it has is 1st gear, As soon as it
tries to shift into 2nd it goes into failsafe which is reverse and 3rd. I
pressure tested reverse clutch and the low reverse brake. both are over 200
lbs in reverse. I disassembled the transmission and found no stripped
splines, missing snaprings, ect. The stall test in 1st gear passed. Help me

code 36 "fault immediately after a shift" and 52 "gear ratio in 2nd gear",
ive heard of output speed sensor issues that indicate errant movement at 0
mph which stops shifting into reverse, however i think that that if i have
pressure at l/r brake and reverse clutch, its not a control problem. data
list for output speed indicates 0 when not moving

Re: help! No reverse 2nd or 3rd gear 99 eclipse, chrysler trans

ok well the 2-4 clutch is on the same hub just below the main drum <trans is
also known as A604 > normally that hub has a sungear built on to it and can
can break cleanly enuff that it looks right to the person not knowing the
inside of the trans. if the sun gear is not part of the 2-4 hub then the
trans will not have 2nd or 4th gear.that would also explain the code 36
fault immediately after a shift.the code 36 is primary code and code 52 is
exact code where tcm has seen problem. if the hub on 2-4 is indeed intact
then you may have to look at the transmission control module which is
mounted on the front of the engine compartment right in front of the
radiator <left side> <some brainless dodge engineer decided to put it right
next to major heat source> if you have indeed dismantled the trans be very
careful of the snap rings some are beveled and must be in certain positions.
need some help send me email directly
