Help leaking Supra rear window?
Has anyone had the rear window bottom seal on a MK3 Supra leak water into
the plastic moulding that coversthe wiper motor. When it rains this always
happens. I know its not the rear lights as the water only collects in this
moulding before it overflows into the boot (I sealed the lights long time
ago). I'm not sure if it is the glass seal but I don't know where else to
look, it's driving me crazy. Hope someone has found the problem & sorted it.
Thanks for reading. Peter

Thanks ma twat, is that what you do on your beloved cars. Then if you drive
a Yank its not surprising as thats what they were probably orininally
assembled with. Hopefully someone will come up with a more aesthetically
pleasing solution.

It is far better to have a little duct tape on your car than have water
seeping into the car. You will get rust between the seal and the metal
and the interior could get moldy. Use the duct tape as a diagnostic
tool to locate the leak - then you can use clear silicone sealant.
Your other option is to use a professional method. They have a vapor
sensor and they "spray" a chemical vapor around the seal with the sensor
on the other side. When the the sensor detects the chemical they have
located the leak - at $80/hour plus materials. If you have the money
and time - go for it.
You may want to take it to a body shop if this leak has been around for
a while. They can pull the window, repair any rust damage, and
re-install the window with a leak-proof warranty.
