BMW: help 94 325i passenger seat problem

the electric seat slides forward and bck but the electric recline is stuck all
the way reclined. yu can hear a mototr run when hit the switch, is there a
trouble shoot or a sit to see the breakdown of the seat?. dont want to create a
night mare, and son is 16 with limited funds...please help
