Re: Has Everyone Gone Nuts? - maybe they have

    Tom,

I was trying to think of a less shocking question to say to him...how
about :" Is the price firm on this part ?" Most likely, he will say
its negoitable , or 'no' . Then, youve kinda softened him up a bit. What
    do u think ?

I have a bed for sale that is far less than its value. I just want to
get it out of my way. I have had several calls from an ad I ran in my
local newspaper. A lady called about the bed. I told her if she
wanted it, she had better come right over because I had several calls.
She got directions and said she was on her way. She never showed up.
I have her number on caller ID. If she called back and wanted to come
over (and had no excuse other than bad manners, I will refuse to sell
it to her! I don't understand not haggling at a swap meet, but do
somewhat understand good value not being appreciated. I am stubbord,
sometimes to a fault, but I do not like or appreciate people not doing
what they say they would do. Yes, if this was an expensive item, I
would just take her money and write it off. So I am, if I even get
the chance, willing to sell to someone else who did not disrespect my
    time.

    Thanks,

    Don in Georgia

Don, Maybe she had a accident on her way over to y our
house.....or.....worse. Maybe she changed her mind about buying it at
the last moment ; we do that all the time about things. It may have
been nice for her to call you back to tell you she had a change of
heart...but, i dont think it was mandatory she do that. Would you call
Circuit City back if you told the guy youd be right over to buy one of
his TV;s ? Trying to sell something to the general public usually comes
with messing around, is my past experience.
Chances are, youll sell your bed if youve had a ton of calls on it ---
people are allowed to back out of a deal before it is a done deal.

You probably spooked her Don... When she called did you say anything like
"You can try it out" or anything like that?
