Jeep: Grand Cherokee Problem

Grand Cherokee Problem
I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee with the V8 engine. Last week things were
running fine, and I checked the oil, and saw that it was low. I added in
some oil, and an additive that is supposed to help stop burning oil. Well,
since then once the engine gets warm, it cannot sustain the idle RPMs. The
engine will just stop, unless I press lightly on the gas to keep the engine
running. My wife says that she has noticed that it has been dripping more
oil recently. I haven's noticed any since I had it tuned up 2 months ago.
I would appreciate it if anybody knows either what may be wrong or what to
do to fix it.

Buy a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and dump into a full tank of
gas and run it down the pike about 70 MPH for about 10 minutes. This
will clean carbon build up out that seems to be your problem . You
will also be able the check any large oil leaks with a return
inspection of the front bottom carriage.
Also , if you go from a synthetic oil to standard, there is possibly a
small loss of idol speed .The synthetic oil has less resistance to
moving mechanical parts.Your idol should smooth out !

Re: Grand Cherokee Problem
Is there a specific brand of injector cleaner that you would recommend?

Re: Grand Cherokee Problem
The local mechanic with a call in radio show says Chevron's Techron is the
best. Read the labels because the make a cleaner with Techron and also the
pure stuff.
