Garmin GPS: GPSmap76cs vs GPSmap76CSx

Re: GPSmap76cs vs GPSmap76CSx
Hi,
I have both the 76CS and the 76CSx. I found the 76CS to be almost totally
useless in dense forests while I have never known the 76CSx to lose lock at
all while under the thickest cover. The improvement in sensitivity has to be
seen to be believed. The electronic compass on the 76CSx also takes
virtually no current as opposed to the 76CS which is a real battery hog
allowing it to be left on permanently. I like to be able to see which way I
am heading even when standing still.
I don't use WAAS/EGNOS as the normal accuracy (<20ft) should be good enough
for any hiker.
