Toyota Trucks: Gas in oil

Gas in oil
Is the throttle body & and sensor the only things that could
cause this? I just put in a rebuilt long block have 3500 miles
on it. I replaced the throttle body at the request of the shop because
my old one they said they had to remove a spring because it was not
going all the way down to Idle. Now after getting a throttle body from a
wrecking yard it seems they were talking about a dash pot ? These guys
are a fairly good size operation I find it odd they just said it was a
spring
and was hard to explain. So I replaced the body I'm not real sure mine was
bad
I could get what felt like slop on the original but I noticed on the used
one I bought
had slight slop also but I can only feel it when they are closed. The first
was worse
then the second. The sensor felt great and adjusted fine. I'm using a quart
every 500
to 1000 miles seems better off the freeway? Needless to say I cant go back
to these jokers they left several hose clamps off and seemed very hurried
working and were selling parts over the phones all then time they were doing
there work plus the said the clean up the Throttle Body they never even had
it
OFF.
I guess my questions are.
Send in a oil sample?
Is the dash pot necessary?
And what order would you put the priority's and
any suggestions.
This is on a 88 4X4 22RE
Thanks for any help.

Re: Gas in oil
If your engine is making oil, sounds like a leaky injector to me.

So I can get gas in the oil from a bad injector??
I'm really in a bad situation the last two shops
that worked on this I would not even let them
install a wiper blade. I better work on finding a
honest mechanic.
Thanks..Greg

Sure, if the injector has a crappy spray pattern or is clogged or is
sticking open, fuel will leak into the cylinder at the wrong time and make
its way into the crank case.

So a good mechanic should be able to trouble shoot what's causing
this ? or do you need to replace parts?
Thanks Again!! Greg

If you are losing oil, the problem is not a leaking injector..
I re-read your first message some more again and it says you're *using* a
quart in 500 to 1000 miles..
If it's a "rebuilt longblock" and it's using a quart that often, then
something is not quite right inside the engine. Maybe the rings have not
seated properly... in which case, you need to drive the shit out of the car
for a while. Maybe someone put the wrong rings on the pistons... Maybe
there's a valve stem seal that didn't get put on properly. There's a whole
lot of things that could be the culprit..

whole
Yea I have a hard time commutating and tend to be quite confusing.
This shop is going to charge me $650.00++ to what they say fix it.
I'm not giving them chance to bend me over any more. So I have other
throttle body I will try and find someone to work on it. Should I buy a new
dash
pot ?? I'm a bit confused on if I need it runs great without??
Thanks!!! Greg

I wouldn't buy any more new parts until you find someone that will
troubleshoot the problem for you.
There has to be someone out there where you live that can do it right..
