Navigation & GPS Systems: Garmin 2610 mount question

    Re: Garmin 2610 mount question

I use my streetpilot in a 2002 F-150 also and no problems.

I keep it right on the hump just slightly to the left of the
radio,,,or directly above the radio. The bean bag doesn't slip just
don't use armorall to clean. The extra plug socket works good for the
    power.

BTW,,,,,I think the street pilot 2610 is just the greatest. Helps me
become more efficient in my travels.

    Hope this helped.

That's good to know Mark. I have a dashmat on my dash and was thinking
of trying the bean bag mount where you state, only maybe putting some
velcro on the bottom of the mount to help it "adhere" to the carpeted
    dash.

When using this mount, can the GPS unit can be rotated so it sits
completely horizontal, or will it be tilted a little?

    Thanks

I was speaking of the content not the presentation. It works, it's easy
to navigate and there's no annoying popups. But if you're looking for
    eye candy, you're right.

the bean bag has 4 wings on it which are supported internally by a pliable
piece of lead or similar. you can bend them to conform to your dash and
improve the sp's "level". just don't bend them too often because they will
    eventually break...

I have no interest in eye candy. But the presentation is far from
ideal - too many font sizes, too many colors, and it's confusing. For
instance, if I look under New Items and click on the 2610, I'd expect
to get TVNAV's pricing info, not be shuttled off to Garmin's site,
with no indication of what to do from there.

You raise some good points. It could stand to be redesigned.

I guess that is a good question,,,,,,I would have to say that if you
have it at the peak of the hump you will be able to situate it nearly
perfectly horizontal,,,,but the bean bag is also not perfect either

Let me put it this way. I don't have a problem with its situation as
far as visibility goes (reading display) I am posting pics for you.
Take a look and you can see the versatility. I thiought the same
before I bought it,,,,,,,there is a place that sells mounts
www.mobilecx.com I'm pretty sure that's the web address.

no question that the site's design costs him sales. People get
