    French Trip OT I Think!!

    Hi everyone,

I am thinking of doing a booze run to Calais, I will be going to Eastenders
warehouse, fill up with fuel and straight back.
Should I need to get my car legal for France, or take the chance? What would
I need to do to get it French legal?

    I know I need a complete bulb set and a red triangle, light beam converters;
Although I don't intend any night driving, I am just going to hit and run
with their cheap booze, fags and fuel.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Dave

I never bother with a GB sticker...after all, the bloody French don't
bother over here! I do fit beam-benders...but then again have you ever
seen European car or lorry with 'em over here?

LOL, how do you get all that booze and fags on your bike?
I am not sticking stickers on my paintwork, so I will get those Euro number
    plates on it instead.

I have been over a fair few times.

You are supposed to comply to French law but no-one does, and no-one
cares. You may get someone coming over to you as you wait to board
warning you of the risk you are taking by not doing xyz, but in
reality I think they are trying to flog you some overpriced kit on the
    boat.
But that is just my opinion, and if you have an accident, things might
    go tits up.

I wouldn't bother going to Eastenders, just go to the hypermarket,
Citi Europe or whatever, do all your shopping in one hit and go.

Assuming you are going on POSL, buy your tobacco on the boat.
If you are going through the tunnel, GO TO A TABAC !!

If there is a chance you will have to use your headlights it is best
to mask them, and the Sun still have a £15 offer for car +passengers
on at the moment, afternoons I believe...

If you want fags and have the time, Adinkeke in Belgium is about 1/2 hour

away - they even have a smouldering ciggie on the road sign Don't know what
they charge on the boats at the moment, but here they are £25 for 200.

Re GB sticker.....you can get magnetic ones - no damage and take it off
    later
