Corvette: Exhaust headers for C3 BB stock side pipes?

Exhaust headers for C3 BB stock side pipes?
All,
I am in the middle of installing the Ramjet 502 in my 1970 coupe, Turns
out, GM's claim that all the stock BB accessories will bolt right up to the
new Ramjet 502 is false! the stock BB exhaust headers interfere with the
lower head bolts and will not install without grinding on the cast iron.
then I am still not sure if it will be enough. (really don't want to ruin a
stock set of $600 cast iron headers) Also, those head bolts on the aluminum
502 heads are probably special stretch bolts and I don't want to screw
around with them on a $9K engine either. I think my best bet would be to
put a set of headers on it but it is set up as a side pipe car and I want to
keep it that way, So.......
Does any one know of a source that sells a set of BB exhaust headers that
will interface with the stock side pipes for the 69 or 70. I would probably
be willing to modify the side pipes up at the header interface if I have to,
I think....
Any help would be appreciated.
Bob

Yeh, I know, I lack 3/4" on my stock style L-88 after-market hood. I
plan to do a little fiberglass mod to handle that. I'm thinking of putting
a small 67 style scoop on top to gain the needed clearance. Not to high
though, I still need to see over the hood!!! Any other thoughts?
