Navigation & GPS Systems: Etrex Legend European & US software versions

The software updates on the Garmin site (3.5) are not region specific as the
basemap is in no way affected by updates. You cannot load the US Basemap
into a European Legend.


If you have bought your legend in Europe it will still have a US basemap.

What may have happened is that you 'may' have a USA version of the Legend
with the Worldmap loaded into the 8mb memory. When you did the upgrade it
will have purged the memory as well.


Where did you buy the Legend??

If bought in Europe through legit dealer then it will have Europe Basemap
permanently!

I have just reread my response and see a glaring error in one line: It
should read if you bought the Legend in Europe from a legit (i.e a dealer
who gets them from Garmin Europe) then it will come with the European
Basemap. (Brain not working also as I wrote it would have a US basemap -
der).

I am sure you will have hours of pleasure with it.
