ES300 Battery is completely drained (What is this)
Hello,
I have a 99 ES300 and I had it sitting for about 2 weeks and I came out
this morning and the remote wouldn't even work. The lights or nothing came
on at all. I had to jump start it and it took about 20 mins to do that. As
I was driving I noticed that the lights would dim when I stopped at lights
and the clock light would dim and a few times when I turned on the heat and
the radio at the same time the radio would act like it wanted to cut off.
Now when I got to work and turned the car off and tried to start it again
it won't start of course.
Do I need to have my battery charged back up completely? My battery is
less than a year old. Does this sound like a battery problem and does it
drain that badly after just 2 weeks of sitting.
Thanks
Raymond

Maybe you left the light in the middle of the roof on and
the battery really drained and got damaged? So make sure
you check that light switch position. It's hardly bright
enough in the daytime to even notice that light is on.

I'm no car expert, but it sounds like the alternator to me. I didn't
have a lexus at the time but while I was driving at night all of my
lights went dim...even the dashboard. The auto garage traced it back
to a faulty alternator. My battery was fine.

This is Turtle.
If a auto is running and the lights dim or see a difference in the brightness of
any of the lights. You have a Alternator messing up and not the battery. You can
have a totally dead battery on a car and if it is running. It will be running
off the Alternator and nothing off the battery.
