    Emergency (coolant issue again)

Ok... I've replaced the thermostat & o-ring seal. Apparently there are no
other gaskets on top. I just started the car & looked for leaks. Yes, it's
still spurting like a mfer out of the top of the thermostat housing thing...
but I also noticed it's spurting out of the bottom of it too. Any ideas on
    how to fix this? Thanks.

The lip of the thermostat sits in a little inset area on the thermostat
housing. I could not get the thermostat to stay in this inset area. Each
time I would push the housing (with the thermostat sitting in the inset)
against the block, the thermostat would slide out of this inset area and
the surface of the housing and the block could not meet flush. I put
some gasket adhesive on the thermostat and the housing. It was "tacky"
enough to let me put the housing on without the thermostat slipping off.
    Hope this helps.

Check for cracks. I once put a thermostat in upside down and tightened the
housing. The housing cracked and had to be replaced.

Damn you, Yen. It's a crack. A decent sized one. What is this part called?
(It's black... and is part of where the fuel injectors are (i think). It's
not the silver aluminum/metal part. Any idea what it's called & an
    approximate cost? Thanks =).

Um just so you know, the '96 and '97 GT's had a technical service bulletin
on the intake manifold (the plastice black thing) and Ford will replace the
part free of charge for I think 7 years. They replaced mine TWICE, as it
broke both times right in the area that you are describing.

    Good luck -

Question: Do TSB's have any limitations on them as far as the time you have to
get them done? There is one (96-12-25) that has to do with replacing the
cooling system higher capacity parts (radiator, a/c condesor, etc.) that would
solve my problem of the engine running hot in this hot SW Florida weather....

i am not too sure, but i would think each tsb may have its own specific time
    period -
