Corvette: Dilemma

Dilemma
Ok, here's my dilemma. I own a Corvette. My dad owns a prowler, a porshe,
a viper, and a rambler (1964, beautiful year.) We have a 4 car garage and
winter is coming up. Which should be left in the driveway? (we don't have a
car port.) For the unlucky car, what is the best way to protect it? (I
have a feeling no matter what you say my car's ending up in the driveway.)

porshe,
let's see..Dad owns 4 cars and a 4 car garage.
yep..he gets to use it. Solutions are:
rent a garage
buy a garage
get an all weather car cover
live with it.

Re: Dilemma
Get one of those zip up bags y ou drive the vette into . Or, try to
talk your dad into getting rid of one of his cars...tell him its
obsessive and excessive.

=======================
FOUR is honestly not obsesive and sure not escessive
Buy a 4 post lift and double park one of the cars...
Ot rent a garage for the winter... I can store one more in my garage...

Hi Rick -- sorry about the potentially hard-nosed situation
concerning Dad's toys and, I understand. However, before
you read on, check out the 'we' in, "We have a 4 car
garage..." Are you sharing the property tax on this garage?
If this is a family compound that's been (and will be) in family
for years, consider building an outbuilding--with two parking
spots, a space heater plus a lane with a pit or lift.
I had the same situation, 15 years ago with variations. Garden
variety tract-home with three car garage and an empty boat
pad. My 911, mama's Buick and my classic truck. #1 son
completed the custom paint on his oval window the same
week I bought the truck. Instantly, two sets of wheels aimed
for the same spot. Son whined for cover.
Underlying rule of family law: Once the last tuition check is
signed, bed and breakfast is always available to my kids and
their offspring. Daily lunch, dinner and ice-box privileges
aren't a part of the deal. Regular entertainment is basic cable
--never anything to do with premium gasoline.
Sure, Dads usually get a rush out of the kid's first
touchdown and when they turn their first 1/4 mile.
Those things done, they seldom get jollies out of the
kid's cars or women. When they do, everyone's got
problems.
Take care of your dad in his old age but tell him
to get rid of his surplus rolling stock when he comes
to share your roof. At that point, he can park his
Saturn alongside your boat. Any mistress stays else-
where.
Cheers & Regards, "Mike"

Re: Dilemma
Here's a different thought...go to college and get free room and board, then
move out and get my own garage. I have an academic scholarship that I need
to uphold and working full time definately leaves little room for study. I
would like to point out how bitter some of you people sound. as for the
dilemma, a car cover's lookin' like my only option. Thanks a lot...kind of.

Re: Dilemma
Rick,
If there is any way to get a 4 post lift in any of the garages you and Dad
will both benefit. Never thought one could be do helpful.
Good luck in you college efforts,

It's only excessive to you dave, because you can only afford WebTV and

If dave can't afford it it's excessive. But the agian living in a 1970
single wide and pretending it's a vette is his thing anyway.
If you have the height this is the best route.
