No kiddin! How's the acceleration?

I bought a Liberty CRD 3 weeks ago. I've gotten 22 mpg so far, with about
1000 miles on the odometer. I drive 65-75mph with probably 85% highway.
I'm hoping the mpg will rise when the engine is more broken in. The guy
who said he's getting 40mpg has been breathing too many diesel fumes.

Thanks. FWIW, I reliably get 18 mpg on my 2003 Liberty (gas, obviously). My
driving is roughly 60% short trips, maybe 10-15% on gravel/dirt/mud/farm,
and 25-30% highway. I'm very interested in a diesel Liberty, but I'd really
want to see 25-30 mog or better to justify the extra expense. My diesel
1988 GMC Suburban got 23-25 mpg when it was 10 years old, so I naturally
expect something better than that.

How's the acceleration?
