Nissan Altima: CV Joints

    CV Joints

My '89 Altima has begun to make a 'clunking' noise as it turns
corners. To be more specific: when it turns right and I accelerate.
I suspected the CV joint. The outer CV boots on both drive shafts
are split, but the inner boots are still intact. I was able to
put some extra grease in the CV joint on the driver's side (about
three big fingers full) but it hasn't eliminated the noise.
    Anything else I should try??

Your kidding right? If the boots are split, they need to be fixed. Now that
you have run with split boots for so long, the CV joints are contaminated and
    worn out. They need replacement.
