    Coolant boilover on E30 question

I recently drove to Vegas where it was 120 degrees during most of the day.
I found my 89 325i leaking a puddle of liquid both at the end of the drive
and then the next day when I drove it around Vegas, but then it stopped.
The liquid appeared to be coolant, since it looks greenish propylene
    glycol-ish.

My mechanic suggests that it was the boilover effect, releasing coolant
throug the overflow valve. There does seem to be less coolant in the
    reservoir.

My question is: the liquid seemed to leak down from the area of the 325i
under the dashboard on the passenger side of the car. Would this be the
    right place for coolant overflow?

I've been driving the car for 5 weeks since, with no coolant-alert lights
    nor further leakage problems.

On my 90 325ic the coolant oerflow is on the drivers side, near the
expansion tank. (the overflow hose is jsut below the filler cap)

Your drip location sounds like A/C drainage, but that shouldn't be green..

did you mech make this assumption before or after he pressure tested the
    cooling system?
