I just put 14"s on my Tercel, which had 13"s. Rides much nicer.
Give us the tire size now, on the sidewall, and we can tell you what you
can fit, and if it will be realistic or not

The current tires are 175/70R13 82T. The goal is to use the most popular
wheel size so that the wheels can be resold if necessary. We'd also like to
use a wheel that would allow a slightly wider tire size than standard. The
175/70R13 82T is the widest side cited by our car manual.

They give that size for that rim on the car. You can buy wider, but you
have to make sure that it won't rub up against your wheelwells when you
turn. Make sure you ask the person or shop you are buying the rims from
about this
Here are some 15" sizes that you can go with, plus how much your
speedometer will be off
50-195 +.13 mph at 70mph
45-205 -1.17 at 70
50-205 +1.13 at 70
45-215 -.06 at 70
Personally, I'd go with the 50-195, it's not much wider, but you don't
really need much wider
BTW 50 is the percentage of the width of 195 CM

Wider is not always better. On dry roads you may get better handling,
but you may notice more body roll since the suspension will be the weak
link now. When road are wet, wider tires on the same car, tend to
hydroplane more. On snow you should go with narrower tires for more
traction and control. Rumor also has it, wider tires can reduce your
gas mileage, due to the increase friction with the road, which is why
youi get better handling.
