The 210 should have come with a disk to install for this utility. My
    400 did.

The disc install have a software for conversion but can't convert .img to
..imi, it's just to tansfert file from PC to eXplorist !

I use Magellan MapSend Topo 3D USA version 1.0. I have both Explorist 600
and Meridian Color GPSs. If I enter the serial number of the unit when
asked just before writing the selected region image file to disk, the
program will produce the correct .img or .imi file to match the needs of the
serial number supplied. Apparently (I am guessing!) there is enough
"intelligence" in that version of the software to change the format of the
    output to match the device.

In the description of the 210, it's presented as compatible with mapsend
directroute europe but on the list of mapsend equipement requiered... 210 is
    not present !

Re: Conversion .img. to .mgi or .imi

Since my Explorist 600 is a USB unit, the MapSend desire to send region info
via the serial port results in a failure to communicate. However, if you
choose the "save to disk" option you can then transfer the saved image file
(*.imi or *.img) to the GPS as necessary. My copy of MapSend asks for a
serial number each time I select "save to disk" or any other option at the
the "send to GPS" menu of MapSend Topo. Does yours? If you supply the
correct serial number (as displayed on the GPS's "about" screen), will it
save the correct format? Don't worry about what the documentation says - in
most cases, it's so poorly written as to be useless anyway. Just try it and
    see what happens.
