Chrysler: computerized diagnostics -- need some info PLEASE

hello,
1. i need to know what *variables* are tested on chrysler diagnostics
(e.g.. cylinder compression; timing etc.)
2. are error codes generated (or what is the outPut)?
also, does chrysler use a "special" program or does it use the general
one(s)?
3. where can i find out more about this (the general program, etc.) does
anyone know of a site? (not sure what to search for)
