Re: Collector insurance?
www.hagerty.com. These guys are the best that I've found. Aside from very reasonable collector car insurance, they also offer 24 hour roadside assistance with flatbed towing for $15 a year.

Re: Collector insurance?
Check this one:

Note that theor coverage ONLY covers driving in/to/from parade or
collector car events. If you drive the car to the store, to work, or
ANYWHERE ELSE - they won't cover the loss. Buyer beware.

Re: Collector insurance?
Be SURE you get 'Agreed Price' coverage on your car . This means 'you'
set the price on the car and if it is totalled or stolen....the
insurance company pays the price. They will require some pictures of
the car and a complete description of its condition and features, and
most Classic Car Insurance Companies will allow you to drive it up to
3000 miles per year/you must have a daily driver car/ the classic car
must be kept locked up overnight in a garage/and y ou must keep the car
within eyeshot when you do take it somewhere. Thats the way my Insurance
Company works it, and i pay : $216 for the year.
Incidentally....mine is no deductible for ANY damage whether it gets
keyed in vandalism, or, if a stone causes a crack on the windshield.

Re: Collector insurance?
I called them and they will only insure Corvettes
that are 25 years or older -- his '77 will just make it
just within their requirements.

Cool. I've never had to file a claim with them (thank God), but they seem
to be a good outfit with fair prices. I hope it works out.

I second that recommendation. Very competitive prices, agreed value, no
mileage limits. Only requirement is that you prove regular insurance on
an "everyday" vehicle other than the collector car.

Re: Collector insurance?
Hmmm, I'm going to have to look at my policy again. I thought there was a
2,500 mile per year restriction. Of course since my odometer is busted, it
doesn't really matter much

I think mine says 7,500 per year and classified it as pleasure vehicle. Car
also is expected to be off the road for 3 months during the winter. They
called that 9/12. Meant you were insured for 12 and only billed for 9.

Let me know if yours has a limit. I recall the absence of a limit being
the big reason I went with Hagerty over a competitor.
