GM / General Motors: clear coat problems

My 1992 Olds Toronado is just starting to show a few spots on the trunk
where the clear coat is lifting. Is there a good inexpensive way to get this
to stop now before it spreads? I know I can repaint, but I don't want to do
all that if I can avoid it.
