    Civic Motor Hesitates

We've got a new Civic stick shift coupe and we are very pleased with
it, except for a tendency of the engine to hesitate a bit in both 2nd
and 3rd gears while accelerating. Not noticeable in 4th and 5th
gears. We are not talking about it being under-powered, more like a
period during acceleration, particularly up a hill, where the engine
seems to catch, slacks off for seconds, and then resumes speed. It
is evident with and without the air conditioning. Is this just
something that I need to get used to???

Have you gone to the service department at your dealership and spoken with
the shop foreman or a technician or two?

I haven't driven a new Civic but it doesn't sound like normal behavior. Since
it's new you should be able to get it serviced under warranty.
