Saab: Check engine diagnosis

Check engine diagnosis
Symptoms: Car (1988 900s 16v, 197kmiles) starts normally, seems to be running
fine. Yesterday, the radio wouldn't come on, asking for the code to be reset,
which makes me think there was an electrical interruption somewhere. Today, it
started fine, check engine light was flashing in a 4 flash sequence at 1500
rpm, went to a solid light above 1500-1800 rpm, flashed again when I slowed
back down. The car is runnning fine. The code seems to indicate a "knock
sensor", (whatever that is). Any other ideas or guidance?

The main task of the knock sensor, is to manage the ignition, if there was
not enough octane in your fuel. Maybe you take bad fuel!

Whatever it was, it lasted only one day and hasn't done that since. Also,
the radio "reset" itself without my having to enter the code. Strange, but as
long as it has stopped I guesss all is OK
