    Changing Cherokee Radiator

I bought my 97 XJ used last November with full knowledge that the
radiator had a small leak, was full of "stop leak" and would
eventually have to be replaced. Well it always ran a little hot even
in the winter and finally with 90 degree temps and A/C running it
started getting into the red and then the weak/leaky area finally blew
out a bit and was slowly leaking all over.

So my good friend and I set aside a Saturday to pull the radiator.
The whole job went very smoothly and we got the old one out and put in
the new one (heavy duty) and replaced all of the hoses, thermostat,
etc. When a MASSIVE rainstorm started to roll in on us. I got
everything clamped down and double checked and was pouring in the last
of the new radiator fluid when the skies just OPENED up. So here I am
trying to dump in the last of the fluid with the wind whipping around
and water pouring over everything and I look up and there's my friend
standing under the eves of his house, dry as a bone.

He looks at me and says "hey, make sure you check for leaks on that
    thing".

Ooooh, what I would have given for a hose or a bucket! <grin>
