BMW: Change sliding roof on E39 to clear roof

Change sliding roof on E39 to clear roof
I have a 97 528i sliding moon roof. its the painted roof. I was
curious if its possible to change it out to the clear sliding roof if
i was to find one from a newer model. Mine doesnt have the sliding
visor under my roof since its not clear. So I am not sure if that
matters since the clear ones come with that.
thanks

Nope I just think spending 14K instead of 30K on the same car is a
better decision, then mod it from there.
Thanks for not helping.

Just for your own notes I believe the painted roof is called a sunroof,
the glass roof is the moonroof. I'm sure it can be done, how much it
would cost would be a different question though. You probably have to
replace the whole sunroof cassette since the moonroof could be
different. Go to a dealer get a quote. My dad's '97 540i has a
moonroof so obviously this model year did come with them. It's just a
matter of which parts have to be replaced.
