Re: Canuck check-in
> Oh, well, that explains it. TeGG was mentioning how its cool to hate
I didn't think TeGG said that. TeGG said that he thinks a big part of
being Canadian is NOT being American. I think not being American is
a far cry from hating Americans and that most Canadians view America as
a friend and ally.
Perhaps, but your statement reminds me of comments made by
George W. Bush. George could you use a few history lessons before
opening his mouth.
George was ordering the Ambassador to Canada to chastise Canada
for not joining in the Iraq invasion. I think the Ambassador didn't
want to do this because he knew his history better, he also knew
there was already Canadian naval support in the gulf (all those dinghies).
Bush was saying that even if Canada didn't agree with the Iraq attack they
should join
in anyway because they're old buddies and the US would do the same
for Canada. But that is where lack of history hurt Bush. Canadians knew
they had fought WWII for 2 years before the US joined in. The US
joined only when they were directly attacked, they didn't jump in 2 years
earlier
and say "we don't agree with this war, but Canada needs us". In fact, the US
had asked Canada to do something about the French islands of St. Pierre and
Miquelon because they didn't want a threat to the US that close. When the
news of Pearl Harbor hit Canada immediately declared war on Japan.
So when George made his statement that the "US would do the same for Canada"
it went over like a lead balloon.

Not ALL Canadians are anti=American LIEbrawl idiots. Even though I have
strong opinions favouring mandated safety equipment, I spit on *my* current
Canadian government and its stupid foreign affairs policies. Not to mention
its ongoing attempts to try and stop Canadians from reading and watching
whatever they want to, in whatever media they please.

bed.
I am one Canadian who believes that leaving doors--car or house--unlocked
for any length of time is just inviting grief. Wisdom consists is using ALL
security devices possible....including safety devices.

Likewise. Archie told it like it should be. I recall his "menstrual
(minstrel) show".
