The 850Ci uses the same v12 found in the 750 which is the 5.4 liter
    producing 322hp and 361 ft/lb of torque. The 850CSi has a larger 5.6 liter
    v12 that produces 372hp and 402 ft/lb torque. Additionally, I believe that
in the years (94/95?) the 850CSi was produced it was only available with a
manual transmission and the other 8's, 850Ci and 840Ci, were only available
    with autos.

While it was never badged as such, the 850CSi was basically an M8. The
motor had an "S" prefix, and the VIN starts with "WBS", both which
    signify an M-car.

Note that an actual M8 was built, but only a single-car prototype. It
had a 6-litre, 550 hp engine that was the direct precursor to the motor
used in the McLaren street cars.
