BMW: The big problem with BMWs (and VOLVOs)

Re: The big problem with BMWs (and VOLVOs)

That's interesting, because here, on the left coast of the US, Volvo
drivers have the same reputation: Oblivious, self-centered fools who
haven't a clue about anything or anyone else on the highway.

I think it has something to do with Volvo positioning itself as the
world's safest vehicle (which isn't true, but has been one of the most
successful advertising campaigns in car history). Leads people who
only care about themselves and their personal well being and the rest
of the world be damned to buy the things. Then they drive like they do
everything else in their lives: as though they were the only people on
the planet who mattered. Matters not if it's a man or woman, there is
a clear Volvo-driver syndrome that has earned them their well deserved
    reputation as highway idiots.

Seemed it was the Volvo set who adopted the "Baby on Board" window
sticker. They couldn't believe the world really didn't give a rat's
heiney for the fact that they were suddenly parents.

I think you're wrong about the Ford version of the beast, however. I
don't see any change at all.

Hell yeah!!! Can you spell NASCAR?

You know, in all fairness, we can't stereotype people based on the make of
the car they drive, but it's always so much fun when we do that.

But in the spirit of picking up fights, maybe people in France are a bit
jealous that we have the great city of Detroit, which makes the greatest
cars in the world to drive

I suggest you get yourself a big portion of freedom fries <lmao> and
leave the french alone. They make very interesting car concepts which
are totally different to those available in the US because no french car
maker has been present at the US market the last few years.

Since some years the german manufacturrs are under constant attack,
because the french succed in making diesel cars with soot filter, which
exhaust virtually no soot anymore - and the germans don't

Every now and then the french car makers donate to the world really
funny newspaper ads. A few years ago Citroen said: "Here you can see a
typical french easy-going, red-wine-loving, assembly line worker. The
piture below showed an industrial assembly robot...

Of course, that's why the French are falling over themselves to buy them...

Detroit, Detroit? Isn't that the place where all the lights went out?

Hugh, If you ever watch any of those car TV commercial, you will understand
how the crazy drivers are taught to go go go, like crazy. Stupid Lexus ad
even showed drivers going so far, they eye back into their sockets. Same
with BMW ads. And that's a good thing?
