Avalon Auto Locking Doors - '00 XL
Anyone know how to disable the automatic locking feature? OR, is there a
way to program the doors to auto UNLOCK when put in park or ignition turned
off?
Much appreciated

There is a sequence of door lock button pushing and key insert/remove
outlined in the service manual for disabling the auto lock. I posted them
to this group in 2000 so there should be an archive somewhere. Am not
interested in retyping most of a page from the manual again.

Here is the post:
posted exactly the same question about disabling the automatic door
locks
on the 2000 Avalon a couple of weeks ago, and David Kelly kindly
supplied
the answer. Here it is:
To disable:
- Ignition switch on, open the closed driver's door
- Ignition switch off, insert and remove key 5 times within
10 seconds.
- Press the unlock side of the door lock switch 5 times
within 10 seconds
I thought the original question was referring to the door relocking
feature. It cannot be disabled on the 2000.
And if you loose the keys on the 2000 you need a new computer.

And for the clueless, the bottom posting suggestion was made when
