    Angling windscreen washer jets

    Hi there,

I just got my car, a 1993 318i, back from having it's bonnet replaced, and the windscreen washer jets now successfully clear the car, providing wonderful benefit to whatever happens to be behind me at the time

I'm new to cars (this is my first car, and I've only had it a month), so I have no idea how to go about trying to adjust the angle of the jets. Any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    -- Michael

Stick a pin in them and move firmly

You may need to go back and have your originals put back on, assuming they
still have your old part in a dumpster. They can be rotated a little but
this won't help you. They may be clogged, so the pin trick is worth a try.
In any case I think the shop will fix it for you if asked.

Bingo. The pin "trick" isn't a trick, it's what BMW tells you to
do in the owners manual. Plus there's a nifty diagram there
that tells you where you should aim them. That's important. Ask
    me how I know.

Should I scan this page and slap it on the web someplace?

Like I can find my owners manual now. If you saw this room
    you'd know why.

Basically you want one jet (the left one looking
at the windshield standing at the front of the car)
to dquirt at the beginning of the sweep and the other
one to squirt about 2/3 the way up at the end of the sweep.

Hey Richard good to see you on the Bavarian side. Did you give-up on your
    Mercedes? ;-)
