Chevrolet: air conditioning half working

I have a 2006 chevy malibu. The air conditioning is cold on the
passenger side, and warm on the driver's side. What is happening? I
don't think the AC system is low on gas since the one side is cold,
but something is wrong since the other side is not cold. Any ideas are
appreciated.
