Clear top has scratches in it from hard car wash machine. What is the best

there's a product to remove scratches from airplane windows. if you have a
small airport around, ask there.

A temporary fix that looks good is the "colored" waxes. You can get a wax
that closely matches the base color and most of the scratches will
disappear. A more permanent fix would be to wet sand the clear coat...very
tricky operation.

I would try a plexiglass scratch repair kit (really really fine sandpaper)
follow the instructions on the box

Look up a product called Novus Plastic Polish. They have a package of
3 different grits that are used in sequence to remove scratches and to
polish plastic such as aircraft windows.

Clear top, not painted top.

Re: Advice: Removing car wash scratches from clear top
Yep Novus will work... start with number 3 then drop down to number 2 ...
Personally I purchased all 3 and have never seen the need to go down to
number 1...
The top on my 95 was replaced at no charge by GM because the clear coat
peeled...and they never requested the original back..so I went at the top
with 1500 grit sand paper...then switched to Novus # 3...then to Novus # 2
and when I was finished you could not tell which top was which... Still
can't...
